But what is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP)?
A CFP, or a certified financial planner, is someone who has gone through rigorous certification based on a set standard of education, examination, ethics, and experience through the CFP Board. It holds certified financial planners to a standard of these things throughout their careers and ensures a level of professionalism and continuing proof of excellence. When you work with a CFP, you can know that you’re working with someone upholding the highest standard of ethics and education in the finance field.
